The Kerry Complexion .. AKA The Royal Flush April 15,2005 Lately the head of the Democratic National Committee, Howard Dean, has been urging Democrats not to "talk down" to voters. Isn't that a revealing statement? He defines it as meaning something different than its actual meaning ... but the message is clear. He thinks voters resent the way Democrats talk to them. How could that be? Why would Democratic leaders believe that a significant number of voters are inferior to them. Why would anyone who wants support, talk down to the only people who can support them? I think the answer lies in the patrician reign of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. FDR was, as his name reveals, a Delano and a Roosevelt. He was a member of two major families who were part of the aristocracy of New York. They had been rich and powerful since the days when New York was New Amsterdam. The very European Centric FDR was as close to American Royalty as we have known. Any one who has bothered to listen to the recordings of FDR's fire side chat broadcasts has surely noticed the condescending royal voice of the man who saw himself as the savior of the poor. Roosevelt presented himself as the Royal Robin Hood who had turned on his own class. FDR told us all that he would take from the Rich and give to the Poor. Of course if the poor tried to rob the rich on their own, Roosevelt would have them in the hoosegow before the cock crowed or the crow cocked ... which ever came first. The Democrat appeal was all about a political aristocracy using the votes of the poor to gain power. Give me your votes and I will fight the rich and powerful on your behalf is what FDR said. FDR and his minions did not mention that a prime reason for their existence was to gain power and glory for themselves. FDR like Teddy Roosevelt before him, saw the Roosevelt's as natural members of the governing class. Roosevelt did not think the masses could govern themselves any more than Stalin did. That is why FDR called Joseph Stalin... Uncle Joe. "Elect us to rule and we shall look out for you..", is the basic Democratic pitch created by FDR and used by Democrats ever since. Roosevelt drew his administration from those he considered to be of the political elite. Many were young idealists who saw their role as the true directors of a socialist society. The people Roosevelt hired to staff the growing number of government regulatory agencies were his royal family. They were the royal family from which so many Democratic leaders have been selected. They created the class that said, " I'm from the government and I'm here to help you!!" They taught candidates who say, "I'm a Democratic Candidate. I will care of you!" To the voters who elected him, FDR was their royal leader. The depression had created a class of dependent subjects. In the 1930s one could go into millions of poor homes and find a picture of Jesus beside one of FDR over the mantle. Democratic leaders since FDR have seen the United States as a nation with three classes... The Dirty Rotten Rich, the Democratic aristocracy, and those who should be their subjects. The subjects must be 'educated' to give Democrats their votes. The public must be taught to never ever vote for the Dirty Rotten Rich. It is still a view held by many Democrats and by the main stream media to this day. FDR did talk down to his subjects. He, after all, was the great Roosevelt who would lead all of the working class to the socialist promised land. FDR' s political offspring were the brightest and best who would create the promised land out of the failure of capitalism and republicanism. But things changed as time wore on. A generation after the depression was over the dependent attitudes largely disappeared. The aristocratic Democrats could not kill capitalism even with the help of all their regulatory agencies. Capitalism has grown. Socialism has not prevailed. Even Hillary care was rejected by the voters. The left educated the public to better indoctrinate them. But it has failed.. Democrats, in fact all leftists, just do not understand human nature. People who learn enough to understand the propaganda learn enough to discover the truth. The leftist's inherent prejudice is revealed in the leftist belief that Arabs are too inferior to even want to rule themselves. Socialism everywhere has sown the seeds of its own destruction. It does so because it firmly believes in the inferiority of the masses. It seeks to gain and hold power forever by indoctrinating the young. They use education to indoctrinate minds. Yet world wide this technique is a failure. A byproduct of teaching children to read and write, is the ability to explore and learn on their own. And human nature makes us all want to explore and learn. We then come to logical conclusions. That is not good for the socialists. If you look at history, the successful dictatorships keep the people ignorant and dependent on the dictatorship for everything. The idealistic leftists never understand that if they educate the masses they masses will use their education to overthrow the leftists. So as our nation has become more educated, it has become a nation with fewer blind followers of the aristocracy, We have become a nation where an ever larger number of people want to run their own lives. Democrats such as Kerry, Edwards, and Kennedy.. et. all, still think there are 60 or 70 million downtrodden Americans who are glad to give their votes to an aristocracy if that aristocracy promises to run their lives. There are a few million voters who want a government to take care of them.. There are not enough to elect or defeat much of anyone. There are many who lust to be members of a liberal aristocracy in the media. It is the pitch of Bill O'Reilly who is looking out for us.. or so he says. O'Reilly tries to use the FDR pitch with out the fire place or the aristocratic family tree. Bill just can't understand why he does not pull the radio audience of Rush and Sean. Rush and Sean know why. Some like Bill Clinton have appeal because they are of the masses but managed to con there way to the throne. A Bill Clinton just getting there pleases the "have nots". And if he dallies with their females, then the reaction of the unwashed masses is "Hey Bill .. do one for me!!!" The Democratic operation is so.. old world. And daily, we learn members of the masses have taken to bathing. Have I given you a clue about how the Democrats define the smell of success? We have reached the point where an Aristocrat can not win. We may have reached the point where a good ole boy who snookers the powerful can't win either. The "have nots" are getting fewer and fewer with each passing year. The "have not" father has a "have some" child. And that father believes his grandchildren will be "Get a Bundle" grandkids. So Democrats are finding the "I will take care of you" pitch used John Kerry no longer works. It shows that many Democrats do not understand what most people want from government. Well as Grandpa used to say, "A child that grows up in a brothel thinks a Madam is a respected community leader." The Democrats are going to have to learn what to do in today's world. No longer will a campaign based on a candidates supposedly superior, ancestry, education and caring be enough to get one elected. The "I have a plan" statement when not accompanied with a real plan will not work . Candidates will have to tell us what they intend to do. If elected they had best do it, too. I will take from the rich and give to the poor doesn't work anymore either. Most do not think of themselves as poor.. so they don't see themselves getting anything. And most think their offspring will achieve success, so taking from the rich just takes from my children or grandchildren. So what does work. Politicians are going to have to learn to think like an applicant for the job of CEO. If one wants to be the Nation's CEO, he has best understand the voters are the board of directors. We have heard it described as the "Vision Thing." To get elected a politician will have to present a compelling case of where we are.. and where he wants to take us. As a man who has been president of three corporations, I can add this piece of experience based advice. First find out where a majority of the board wants to go.. then offer to take them there. The days of the American political aristocracy are gone. The aristocrats are still amongst us, but the new media has shown them to be what they really always were. They are just like the British Royal family... without the accent. Except in the USA, Camilla is not the only one getting a royal ... uh ... uh .. hmm... hmmmm Well, you get the message. Proposing to do what the voters want done is the only way to political success. Until the Democrats figure that out, they are apt to continue to lose.
