Mexican peasants

We have a long history of an open border with Mexico. It seemed strange to me that none of our enemies have used the Mexican border to infiltrate our nation. There has to be a reason.

We know there were German operatives in Mexico during World War I but none of them tried to infiltrate into the USA through Mexico.

What about WWII? In 1942 Hitler did sink a number of merchant ships off the east coast and in the Gulf of Mexico, but he never tried sent his terrorists in through Mexico. He did try to land a group of German terrorists off our east coast. They crossed the Atlantic in a submarine and tried to land in small boats. But they were easily caught.

It seems strange that the North Koreans or the Vietnamese never tried to infiltrate though Mexico. We know the Soviet Union used every method possible to get operatives in the USA, but they never tried to come through the Mexican border.

Why? I keep asking myself why.. Why two and a half years after 9-11 have the terrorists not sent any effective terrorists through our very porous Mexican border? Why isn't homeland security up in arms? Why aren't some of us dead at the hands of suicide bombers? No Comprende?

Consider the following. No matter what terrorists are going to do in the USA, they need to bring some money with them. Even if their attack is only going to take days, they will need some money. Maybe not a lot of money.. But at least hundreds. They would have to bring it with them. We have, as we did in other wars, shut down the means of our enemies transferring money into the USA. They must bring at least some money with them.

Therein may lie the problem of terrorists crossing the Mexican border.

Imagine how safe it is in an area with poor Mexican peasants everywhere. Mexican peasants are badly in need of money. They will risk their lives to get 3 dollars. Some will slit your throat for 50 cents. Think crossing this area with a pocket full of dollars.

What about approaching the American border wearing a good pair of shoes. " Pardon me Senior, while I slit your throat to get your nice new shoes... Gracias.!!! " would likely be the last words you ever heard.

Think about hiring Mexican toughs to bring you across the border for a few thousand dollars. Would they likely think the terrorists might have a hundred thousand dollars in that sack they were carrying?

Think like Mexicans approached to bring the terrorists into the USA. If the Mexicans kill the terrorists and take their money, who cares? Will the US President demand the Mexican president arrest them? Will the Mexican government care? Will those who sent the terrorists complain to the UN?

What if a group of Mexicans who normally brings other Mexicans to the USA for money were offered big bucks to escort some terrorists to the USA? Do you think it might occur to them that any terrorists they help cross the border will kill lots of Americans. After the terrorist attack the USA would their lucrative work helping Mexican peasants into the USA end with a sealed tight Mexican border? Would the Mexican government arrest and try the Mexicans who helped the terrorists? Would they get the death sentence to calm American anger and prevent an American invasion of Mexico? These thoughts would never cross the mind of Mexicans who specialize in illegal border crossings .. would they?

Think about crossing as a group of terrorists whose pockets are filled with money. Instead of hiring untrustworthy guards, they bring weapons to protect themselves. Think of the the fire fight if the terrorists used their arms to protect their lives and money It would attract a lot of unwanted Federales. The terrorists might survive the peasants knives and pistols. The Federales who finished the fight with AK- 47s and other military weapons would swear the terrorists had no money. They would proclaim for all to hear, " No no no Senior...... the terrorists did not have money on them. .No!! NO!! No!! Not a single peso. Senior. We searched every body there was no money. Just 3 pesos.. maybe 5 .. no more than 10..... that was it .... 20 at the most .... there was no money, Senior"

The only ones to survive the crossing with things of value are repeat customers. That is drug smugglers. They are repeat customers and cross all the time. Even very poor Mexicans know suicide bombers are not repeat customers. And the drug smugglers know that if terrorists made it across the Mexican border they would have to find a new route. The drug smugglers would kill terrorists on sight.. no questions asked.

If you want to know if any Arab terrorist have tried to come across the Mexican border, I would suggest you look for formerly very poor Mexican peasants or some former Federales living in .luxury in Mexico City.

In any event the record since 911 shows the border has not been used to bring in Muslim terrorists .... at least not effectively. I submit that the Mexican border may be among the most dangerous places in the world for terrorists.

It just may be that the Muslims, ... like the Asians, Russians, Germans and other American enemies before them, understand the problem of crossing the Mexican border illegally with anything of value. Or perhaps they have learned the hard way.
