Political Motivation Oct. 9, 2006
As some of you know I
have been ill for a few weeks. It is
hard to keep up on the news while in the
hospital. But when I got out what I saw
on TV nearly blew my mind. I have
never seen such biased media. The
reporters, news services and
anchors spout the Democrat talking
points around the clock.
They no longer quote a Democrat as making the charges.. they just state the talking points as if they were fact. The object is obvious. They want to reduce the Republican turn out. They attack the president, they attack the speaker of the house and they attack former Congressman Foley. They want to demoralize and greatly reduce the Republican turn out. I fear there are many Conservatives out there who will fall for this gambit. But please I ask you if you are planning on "teaching the Republicans a lesson" not to do so. I often compare politicians to ball players and voters to fans. Politicians know that they like ball players, can't get in the game if they can't get on a team. So a player that is a Yankee fan will gladly play his heart out if he makes the Indian's team. But an Indian's fan stays loyal to the Indians. The same is true of politicians. They will do what it takes to get elected. If the voters want X they will support X. But today we are in the middle of a huge power grab. The media is united in its efforts to prove that a politician can forget about the voters..... He or she must please the media. The media preaches it can control the voters and the politicians have no chance if the media opposes them. The rule is first get media support then worry about the voters. So this election is the Republicans Vs; the Media. So what happens if the Media wins? Will that teach the Republicans to try to please their base or please the media? I think it will teach the Republican party it can not win without the support of the media. That teaches a lesson we can not afford to teach. But what happens if the media fails. We elect the conservatives. We elect the RINOs. We defeat the liberals. We defeat the DINOs. We defeat the Media. No one will be more surprised than the politicians who have come to believe in the power of the Media to manipulate what voters know and think. A bunch of emails, letters, and phone calls from voters will have far more impact than an editorial or media story. Nothing could be more important than a media failure. It proves that while they may boast of power.. they do not actually possess it. The effect will be astounding. Never in my lifetime has the media been more biased. If they fail, those elected will greatly reduce the amount of attention politicians pay to the media. They will have absolute proof that depending on the voters works. Think about the effect on Democrats. We all know the Democratic party is far less liberal than its elected officials. But elected Democrats feel they only need to please the media. But if we hang on to the house and the senate lots of Democrat elected officials will start to moderate their views. They will be a lot more tempted to work with Republicans than to work against them. Please consider that this is not the Screwed up Republicans against the leftist Democrats. This is an election to determine who controls this nation... the voters or the media. Please don't let the Media win. |
