What Democratic Leadership Believes Sept , 06 2007 Republicans are often surprised to find that Democratic leaders say and do things that they think will help them win elections. Republicans are surprised and amazed when Democrats for example claim that Iraq is not part of the war on terror. And what the US needs to do is withdraw immediately. They can't understand how the Democratic leadership could believe that surrender is victory. Guess what gang... They Don't! Republicans are amazed when a leading Democrat such as congressman Murtha calls for a redeployment of our troops to a location further away from Iraq than the USA. He did not say bring them back to the USA he said redeploy them to an Asian island so they could return to Iraq if they were actually needed. There are two reasons for such stupid proposals. First Democratic leadership thinks the majority of voters are stupid, so they say things they think will appeal to less than bright people. Democrats say things like Iraqis are not ready to govern themselves. :Let me see.. Wasn't it Democrats in the late 1850s and 1860s that said that illiterate black slaves were not ready to govern themselves ... that they needed to remain slaves? And is it not Democrats that made the point that literate Iraqis are not ready to govern themselves they need to be controlled by a strong dictator. They would deny that is what they think should happen in Iraq... but if people are not "ready to govern themselves" then someone else must govern them. And a person who runs a government with out the consent of the governed is a dictator... is he not? Someone once said Democratic leaders are all for equality.. but that they believe Democratic leaders are always more equal than anyone else. My point is Democratic leadership sees themselves as brilliant and as the only ones with the knowledge and skills required to produce the good life for the underlings of society. They are, they believe, .... a superior breed. Thus they have to tell the masses what they think the masses want to hear. It is not necessary to tell the voters the truth or even what the Democrats will do if elected. They believe the voters would not understand anyway. It is only necessary to tell voters what it takes to get them to vote for the Democratic Candidates.. It is only important for Democratic candidates to say those things that will acquire political power and hold on to it. Thus a Bill Clinton can tell the voters that the era of big government is over. It is not what he and Hillary want to do or intend to do, or believe. It was saying what it takes to get the support of the underlings... who don't know what is good for them anyway. That is why they have to keep telling us how intelligent Hillary is. But you will notice they never tell us her I.Q. So opposing George W. Bush has nothing to do with the merits or lack of merits of his policies. It has to do with acquiring power. And Democrats must have power because they are the ruling class.. From the Democratic standpoint Republicans are stupid. Republicans believe that people should control their own lives and that the average person is quite bright and fully capable of deciding his or her own future. Democratic leaders know that belief is just plain stupid.. Republicans believe individuals should have as much freedom as possible. But Democrats are certain that ordinary people are not able or even capable of taking care of themselves. They have to be motivated and controlled by those with the intelligence to do so.. That means the Democrats should always be in power. The People need government to take care of them and to cause them to do what is required of them. So for the Democratic leadership to say things they know are not true in order to motivate and control people... is just part of being the rightful ruling class. Actually Democrats are willing to sort of share the role of ruling class. Well at least let a sub class of people have major influence. That group is the media. Members of the media are big government fans. They chose as a career the job of reporting on government. It is just as logical for a government reporter to be a government fan as it is for a sports reporter to be a sports fan. In fact is is easier to find a sports reporter that is not a sports fan than it is to find a government reporter who is not a government fan. So for the media Democrats are their rightful rulers and they are their biggest fans. So do Democratic leaders have principles and beliefs on what government should be? Of course they do... But they know better than to tell the voters what they do believe. That is why Democrats and the media are so surprised when Republicans do what they say they will do. When Reagan became president the media and the Democrats were absolutely shocked. They could not believe Reagan, who after all was a former Democrat, did what he said he was going to do. To Democratic office holders doing what one said he would do was just unheard of.. The media was amazed. After all anyone who believes that people are smart enough to govern themselves has to be stupid. Today Democrats see George W. Bush as stupid. To them he has to be. After all President Bush says what he means and means what he says. No Democrat with a brain would ever do that.
