Long Shots from Obama Camp
Sept 18, 2008 What in the cat hair is Obama trying to do. The polls say Obama is doing well with Mexicans but now Obama is running spots quoting some stuff from a show Rush did on Mexican Illegal Immigration. Rush called his proposal Rush's laws and then read them on the air. They are very harsh on illegal and even legal immigration. Only the rich and educated can immigrate and they must have 40,000 times the minimum wage in money to immigrate. Then Rush told his audience it was not Rush's laws.. what he had read was the Mexican laws on immigration into Mexico. What Rush said was to teach people that Mexico has a lot tougher immigration laws than the USA. Yes Mexicans want to come here by means that would put them in prison if the situation were reversed. They took Rush's description of Mexican law as if he was pushing it for the US. But why would Obama do that? The ad is in Spanish and is aimed at Mexicans. Obviously Obama could not find anything that McCain said that could be used to tick off Mexican Americans, so he used out of context what Rush Limbaugh had said to make a dramatic point that Mexican immigration laws are far tougher than ours. Will what Rush Limbaugh has to say about immigration say effect what Mexicans think of McCain? After all for most of this spring and summer Rush has been the anti McCain guy in the Republican party. He has been very critical of McCain. But this is actual proof that Obama is using attacks on McCain in an attempt to change votes. You see he is not trying to get people to vote for him. The problem has to be that many voters even in ethnic groups have made up their minds to vote for McCain and Obama is about changing their minds. He is trying to get the voters to admit they made a mistake by choosing McCain. So first he must get them back to the undecided column and then pursue an advertising campaign to get them to vote for Obama. This is more proof of my theory that Obama faces a loss. Because a majority of voters have made up their minds and more than half have decided to vote for McCain. So Obama is faced with changing made up voter minds. Every bit of research shows that it is next to impossible to get a voter, once decided, to change their mind. The primary reason is the voters has to admit that the voter made a bad decision. And people do not like to admit mistakes in judgment. But to change their minds they have to admit they at first made a bad choice. That can happen if some scandal comes out that makes McCain look like a very bad guy. But accusing Rush Limbaugh of being a bad guy and then saying that Limbaugh is a McCain supporter is a real stretch. Obama must think Mexicans are stupid. I have met a large number of Mexican immigrants who came to the US to pick tomatoes and then stayed. They may be ignorant, but they are not stupid. I don't think this tactic will work. Plus Obama is staying negative on McCain. Obama is back now to mostly attacking McCain.. Again that has to be based on their need to get voters to change their minds. I will be very surprised if Obama can succeed at that task. Obama apparently cannot come up with good reasons for independents and RINOs to vote for him. I think the primary reason is the fact that if Obama takes positions that would get him independent voter support that would cost Obama the support of his base. Thus for every voter he would pick up with a moderate approach to our problems, he would lose one far left vote. And that would leave him behind the 8 ball with out enough votes to win. So with no real way to get new voters with out losing his base, Obama has to content himself with attacking McCain. And since all the polls show that voters like and admire McCain, those attacks are counter productive. If we subtract the white working class Democrats who will not vote or Obama and add in the 37 percent of independents he is currently getting and compare that to nearly all Republicans McCain is getting and add to that about 58 percent of the independents leaning toward McCain and we have the potential for a blow out. Add the Democrats who are saying they will vote for McCain and it is a major blow out. Obama is obviously planning on doing well in the debates The anchors will be like Charlie Gibson was with Palin. They will throw hard curve balls at McCain and softballs to Obama. The problem for Obama is McCain will blow the anchors out of the water. McCain is great in debates. And Obama will likely do a poor job of handling the soft balls. Those watching will find Obama the unprepared light weight and McCain the old timer that is ready to be president. On the other hand Biden hasn't a snowballs chance with Palin. She will blow his less than bright rear end out of the water. I also saw Palin's husband on Greta.. She was not hard on him at all and he came across as a very strong and secure man. One who was proud of his wife's accomplishments and appreciative of her support for what he likes to do. I don't think there is a Palin scandal. And I don't think there is a McCain scandal. I look for Obama to lose the debates to McCain and Palin to take down Obama easily. I really don't think Obama has much of a chance. He is going to have come up with some significant scandal on McCain and Palin.. I don't think they will get that done. Mainly because there is no scandal to provide. And fake scandals especially in English will blow op in Obama's face. This looks more and more like a McCain Win.
